Abstract

ABSTRACT: Increased income and healthy lifestyle trend encourage people to switch to consuming non-organic food products to organic food products. This encourages producers in developing organic vegetable business. This research was conducted for the development of organic vegetable business by using value chain analysis. Respondent determination was done by census as many as 30 farmers of organic farming at MulyoSantoso Farmer Group in Malang City, and the determination of merchant respondents using snowball sampling. The results show that farmers earn the smallest margin compared to other actors this is because the price received by farmers is determined by the trader. Organic vegetable marketing channel there are four kinds of channels, where farmers who can sell directly to consumers will get the highest profit. This is also related to the efforts of farmers in increasing the added value in processing vegetables into chips and sauces, where farmers are able to increase added value then the profits are also increased. The results of Benchmarking and Upgrading indicate that increasing the added value and capability of farmers to increase production capacity and harvesting the utilization of technology needed to reduce losses post-harvest.

Abstract

Abstract: The objectives of this study are to: (1) analyze the scallion’s production input affecting output; (2) analyze technical efficiency rate of scallion farming, and (3) analyze the determinant factors of the scallion farming’s technical inefficiency. Research’s sample was selected using simple random sampling, as many as 56 farmers. Data analysis technique for the objectives are: (1) stochastic frontier analysis (SFA) using parameter estimation of Cobb-Douglas production function and (2) Tobit regression which all of that analysis techniques used STATA 14 software. The result of this study shows that only seeds and fertilizers (ZA and NPK) has significant influence on the scallion production. Overall, the respondents have not been achieved technical efficiency. Social economic factors such as the number of family member, the number of unemployed family member, farming experience, and credit access are have significant influence on the rate of scallion inefficiency.

Abstract

These study aims to the analyze factors that affect the production of onion farming, to analyze the level of technical efficiency of onion farming, and to analyze the factors that affect the inefficiency onion farming in UPSUS APBN-P 2017 Program. This research uses Stochastic Frontier production function analysis method with Maximum Likelihood Estimation (MLE) approach which aims to analyze production factors that influence on onion production. The second analytical method is using tobit regression that aims to determine what factors affect the technical inefficiency in onion farming in Gondang Sub-district.The result of this research is known that the significant effect on onion farming production inGondang Sub-district are seed, urea fertilizer, KCl fertilizer, ZA fertilizer, and labor. The average value of efficiency achieved is equal to 0.71. The total of 52 farmers are technically efficient and as many as 38 farmers are technically inefficient. In the result of tobit regression analysis, it is known that the factors that significantly influence the technical inefficiency of onion farming in Gondang sub-district are age, farming experience, training participation, and program officer control.

Abstract

The paper is a survey of available literature on savings-income functions in developing countries. It gives critical examination of some of the major theories underlying savings and income functions. In doing this, the paper highlighted the concept of savings and some empirical studies done in the area of savings-income relationships and their findings as well as economic implications of the findings. The import of the paper stems from the fact that domestic savings of which household savings is an important component has contributed immensely to the economic transformation of some economies and the determinants of such savings well researched. Hence, understanding the theoretical underpinnings of the savings-income relationships would pave way for further studies to be conducted in Ghana, thereby, replicating such success stories. This is because a better understanding of the savings-income relationship will contribute to the formulation of appropriate policies for savings mobilisation, thereby improving upon local capital formation capacity. Moreover, a good knowledge gained of the savings-income phenomenon particularly at the rural household level in Ghana will give the monetary authorities a fair idea of how the rural economy operates and how to make improvements in this sector to enable its integration into the mainstream financial system.

Abstract

Low productivity due to the inability of farmers to allocate inputs and technology in full, resulting in lower of production. The present study has estimated the technical and scale efficiencies of cayenne pepper producing, found out the trend production of farmers and knew the projected inputs that must be adopted by farmers. The study is in Pagu village, Pagu Distric, Kediri Regency, Province of East Java. Primary data collected by interview cayenne farmers who became member of the farmers group. The data was analyzed with Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA) with VRS assumption and input-oriented.  The results show that cayenne pepper farming on the site research technically inefficient (CRSTE = 0,482) due to the low efficiency of scale (SE = 0,509), while the value of pure efficiency already high enough (VRSTE = 0,947). There are 4 farmers with SE = 1 and 60 farmers with SE < 1. Most of the farms have been observed have increasing return to scale trend production.

Abstract

The aim of this research is to analyze relationship performance between producer and farmer partner of first level of paddy seed commodity in Malang Regency, analyze relationship performance between farmer of first level partner and farmer of mktra second level of paddy seed commodity in Malang Regency, analyze relationship performance between producer and shop agricultural commodities of paddy seeds in Malang Regency, analyze the performance of relation between agricultural store and consumer of rice seed commodity store in Malang Regency. Determination of sampling method is by multistage sampling and snowball sampling in accordance with information from BPSB (Seed Overseeing and Certification Agency) which has criteria of largest rice seed producer and its marketing area is biggest. Meanwhile, descriptive statistics with in-depth interviews were used in this study to analyze the importance of indicators in considering linkages with rice seed suppliers. These indicators have several sub-indicators that have been divided into five scales: totally unimportant, unimportant, important, important, and very important. There is a close relation performance between producer and farmer of first level partner whereas mutual relation which happened between farmer of first level partner to producer also has a close relation performance. For the performance of the relationship between the first level farmers and the second level farmers, there is a fairly close relationship, whereas the performance of mutual relations between the second level farmers to the first level partner farmers has a close relationship. Related to the performance of relationships between producers to agricultural stores have a close relationship, while the performance of farm shop relations to producers is said to be very close.
